Jesus
Christ Our LORD
Who is Jesus of Nazareth
to you?
Your life on this earth and for all of eternity is affected
by your answer to this question. Find out how you can get to know Jesus Christ
personally and discover what provisions he has made for you to live with him forever.
Who
is JESUS CHRIST?
JESUS CHRIST is the son of GOD. HE came
to earth to fullfill HIS Father's will and that will was to save all men and women
from their sin's judgement which is death. The Bible says that the wages of sin
is death. JESUS came and died and spilled HIS blood
so we would not have to? Can you be saved? Yes times yes a million times. Many
people say I have sinned too much to ever be forgiven. Ephesians 1:7 says that
we are saved according to the riches of HIS grace. HE is rich in grace, and in
mercy and no matter what you have ever done or will do, GOD can and will forgive.
HE wants to forgive more than you want forgiveness. HE has given everything in
heaven so that you will come to HIM. What are you waiting for? There is only one
sin that cannot be forgiven, blaspheming against the HOLY GHOST. That is standing
in the face of JESUS, who bled and died for you, and saying, "No, I will not accept
you as my Saviour". That will lead you straight to hell. But only believing and
recieving CHRIST can make you live forever. John 3:16 says "for GOD so loved the
world that HE gave HIS only begotten Son that whosoever would believe in HIM should
not perish but have everlasting life". That living forever can be you.
WOULD
YOU LIKE TO KNOW JESUS PERSONALLY?
You can! Because of God's deep
love for you, he has already made all the necessary arrangements. Through the
death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, you can enjoy a personal relationship.
Jesus made it possible to bridge the chasm which separates us from God. The following
principles will help you discover how to know Jesus personally and experience
the abundant life he promised.
God LOVES you and created
you to know Him personally John 3:16 "For God so loved the world that He gave
His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal
life." John 17:3 "Now this is eternal life: that they may know you, the only true
God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent." What prevents us from knowing God
personally?
Man is SINFUL and SEPARATED from God, so we cannot know
Him personally or experience His love Romans 3:23 "For all have sinned and fall
short of the glory of God." Romans 6:23 "The wages of sin is death" [spiritual
separation from God]. Romans 8:6-8 "The mind of sinful man is death, but the mind
controlled by the Spirit is life and peace; the sinful mind is hostile to God.
It does not submit to God's law, nor can it do so. Those controlled by the sinful
nature cannot please God." A great gulf separates man from God. Man is continually
trying to reach God and establish a personal relationship with Him through human
efforts, such as living a good life, philosophy, or religion. But he inevitably
fails. The next principle explains the only way to bridge this gulf...
Jesus Christ is God's ONLY provision for man's sin. Through him alone we can know
God personally and experience God's love Romans 5:8 "God demonstrates His own
love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us." 1 Corinthians
15:3-6 "Christ died for our sins... he was buried... he was raised on the third
day according to the scriptures... he appeared to Peter, then to the twelve. After
that he appeared to more than five hundred..." John 14:6 "Jesus said to him, 'I
am the way, the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through
me.'" God has bridged the gulf that separates us from Him by sending His Son,
Jesus Christ, to die on the cross in our place to pay the penalty for our sins.
But it is not enough just to know these truths...
We must individually
RECEIVE Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior; then we can know God personally and experience
His love
John 1:12 "As many as received him, to them he gave the right to
become children of God, even to those who believe in his name."
Ephesians
2:8-9 "For it is by grace that you have been saved, through faith. This does not
depend on anything you have achieved, it is the free gift of God; and because
it is not earned no one can boast about it." Receiving Christ involves turning
to God from self (a spirit of repentance) and trusting Christ to come into our
lives to forgive us of our sins and make us what he wants us to be. Just to agree
intellectually that Jesus Christ is the Son of God and that he died on the cross
for our sins is not enough. Nor is it enough to have an emotional experience.
We receive Jesus Christ by faith, as an act of our will. Jesus Christ is waiting
for an invitation to come in to your life. In fact, he says, "Behold, I stand
at the door and knock; if anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come
in" (Revelation 3:20). Perhaps you can sense Christ knocking at the door of your
heart. You can invite him in by faith right now. God knows your heart so it doesn't
matter exactly what words you use.
This simple prayer is just to help you,
but pray from your heart with faith in knowing HE is able to forgive you.
Lord Jesus, I want to know you personally. Thank you for dying on the cross for
my sins. I open the door of my life to you and ask you to come in as my Savior
and Lord. Take control of my life. LORD JESUS I am a sinner, I admit it. I trust
you now to forgive me.
Thank you for forgiving my sins and giving me eternal
life. Make me the kind of person you want me to be. I believe and now I know that
I am your child. I love you JESUS. Amen!
If this prayer expresses the
desire of your heart, pray it right now and Jesus Christ will come into your life
just as he has promised. Once you invite Christ into your life, he promises to
never leave you. Hebrews 13:5 "God has said, 'Never will I leave you; never will
I forsake you.'" To know God personally is the greatest decision you will ever
make.
If you've just asked Jesus Christ into your life,
We would
love to hear from you.
Trust in HIM now. Today is the day
of salvation. There may not be a tomorrow........
In the book
of Isaiah, Chapter 53 tells the story of the life and death and resurrection of
Jesus Christ. The amazing thing about this is that the book was written approx.
700 years BEFORE Jesus walked the dusty streets of Jerusalem.
Jesus
Himself, also repeatedly predicted His own death. He said,:
Where it would
happen.
Who would be instrumental in putting Him to death.
The kind
of death He would suffer.
That He would rise again (Matt.16:21).
Isaiah
foretold of the death of Jesus seven centuries earlier and of the type of death
He would have to endure for the sins of mankind.
His death
by crucifixion was no ordinary death and was preceded by agonising torture. When
the Romans crucified Our Lord they used all their skills and experience in torture.
When they flogged the back of Jesus, the whip ends had metal balls that ripped
the skin off His back. By the time they finished there was barely any flesh to
be seen.
The attempt to humiliate Jesus with the crown of
thorns had an even more deadly significance. In attempts to break the spirit of
Christ, the cruel torturers dipped the points of the thorns into poison so as
to inject this into His bloodstream, a practice which would drive an ordinary
man insane.
Confirmation of their failure to carry out their
intentions emerged when he appeared before Pontius Pilate. Pilate was convicted
of the sin in his own heart when in the presence of the Holiness of Christ, he
said, "Do you not realise that I have the power to put you to death? (John 19:10)Jesus
answered, "You would have no power over me unless it was given on high". (John
19:11).
Christ's crucifixion, by the Blood which was shed
on Calvary was a victory for all of mankind.
"Behold the
Lamb of God which taketh away the sin of the world" John 1:29 KJV
"For
this is My blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the of remission
of sins". Matthew 26:28 KJV
Jesus said unto
him,” I am the way, the truth and the life: no man cometh
unto the Father, but by me”. John 14:6
Ye
have heard how I said unto you, I go away, and come again unto you. If you love
me, ye would rejoice, because I said, I go unto the Father: for my Father is greater
than I. John 14:28 KJV
Jesus died to show how much
God loves us.
(Romans 5:8); to be our mediator,
(1 Timothy 2:5-6); to
deal with our sins, (1 Peter 2:24)
(2 Corinthians 5:21), to reconcile us to
God (2 Corinthians 5:19).
